The Chinatown-International District means the world to me.



The neighborhood has been my home since I moved to Seattle in 2009, and it has provided me with everything I need: an affordable home, a light rail station, a rich and diverse culture, many shops and grocery stores, and a community of friends and neighbors to care for and be cared for by in return.



When you spend time in the neighborhood, you are surrounded by the hard work of SCIDpda and its staff—whether you know it or not. The apartment buildings, the small stores, the public spaces, and the artwork are all supported by SCIDpda programs. In a neighborhood with many different groups, SCIDpda is a leader, a convener, and a consensus builder. At a time when the C-ID community is confronting complex challenges like homelessness, public safety, and pandemic recovery, I am grateful to have SCIDpda playing its unique role.
